Don't Drink the Orange Water
In a group of company wide announcements that was almost equivalent to someone telling you not to eat yellow snow:

From: Corporate Communication
To: **************
Subject: City Water

Building Services has just been informed that the city water is unfit to drink.
Please do not drink any tap water until further notice. This may also impact cafeterias at the *** and ***.

We will inform you when the problem has been resolved.

This was the first announcement. My first reaction was... what?! When did it become undrinkable? Why is it undrinkable? Then about half an hour later...

Subject: City Water Update

The orange discoloration in the water is rust, caused by the City of Milwaukee opening up an unused main.

The main is being flushed, and we will inform you when the problem is resolved.

In fact, if you went into the bathroom, all the toilets were filled with very orange water. If you can't decide for yourself that you shouldn't drink orange water that's coming out of the water fountain, then maybe you deserve to get sick.

By the time I came into work this morning, everything was back to normal, or so they say. I'll be sticking to the bottled stuff for a while anyway.
