I have a feeling that when someone is elected to a position in Congress, they're probably given something akin to a company Employee Manual. It explains the rules of debate, proper decorum, etiquette, etc. On the front page of that manual are a rundown of the most sacred rules of Congress. Rules that are never to be broken. Rule Number One of course is "If You Can't Ban It - Tax The Shit Out of It":

Senator Tom Carper is calling for a tax on all Internet pornography.

The Delaware Democrat is proposing a 25 percent tax on the purchase of pornographic material online.

The collected tax money would go to a fund to help police prosecute online child pornographers.

The provision is part of the Internet Safety and Child Protection Act.

I'm sure that money won't get redirected elsewhere right Senator? Because we all know how special funds work in government. Why not just call a spade a spade? Internet porn is a billion dollar industry and you want a big ole fat piece of the pie to use as your personal monetary playground. After all... who likes to admit they look at internet porn in order to complain? And who in their right mind would want to stop the prosecution of child pornographers? It's a masterful stroke. Brilliant!
