Mike Brenner was taking his dog, Ella, for a walk one cold day when he noticed something about the marks she was leaving in the snow. And not the ones made by her paws. It got him thinking about similar patterns left behind by some not-so-sober guys at bar time the night before.Brenner is a curator and gallery director, so perhaps it's not surprising what occurred to him next. Why not elaborate on this practice, he thought, by treating it as an artistic medium? Winter lasts long enough as it is, why not make the most of it?He invited artists to turn urination in the snow into a creative act. Some of the works that were submitted are scheduled to be exhibited Tuesday, March 15, on the Web site of Brenner's Hotcakes Gallery. Called "Yellow Snow," it's Hotcakes' first online-exclusive show.
