Did You Know?
Today's did you know comes from the Wisconsin Dept. of Transportation website:

Sunday sales of motor vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, motor homes) are prohibited at Wisconsin dealerships by law. However, vehicle displays on Sundays are permissible, if they meet the requirements below. Note that these restrictions apply to dealership events held at the dealership, off-premise displays, and car shows when they occur on a Sunday.

Sunday display rules:
  • No salespeople present if vehicles are accessible to the public.
  • No contracts written.
  • No vehicle test-drives.

There were more rules than that listed there, but I only listed the first three which were the big ones. Now I can understand if a dealership wants to close on Sunday, a lot of business still do that. But why do we need to enforce that by state law? I work pretty hard during the week, and don't want to go out at night to go car shopping during the week... I'd actually like to see the car I'm going to buy in the daylight. So now the state has cut my weekend in half for car shopping. What purpose could that ever serve? What business is it of the D.O.T whether I buy a car on Sunday?
