Normally I Love the Volokh Conspiracy
Although this means war:

Hate it, to a degree irrationally disproportionate to its (slight) inferiority to "though." I know reasonable minds may differ, but there it is. "'Though,' not 'although'; 'on,' not 'upon'"; that's my motto (though one that may admit of occasional exceptions as to "upon").

My regular readers can probably tell that I use "although" a lot. In fact, I probably use it too much. It's a great transition word... especially for someone with my style. I often times try to present conflicting ideas and point out their relative hypocrisy, or use sarcasm to a great extent in other ways. If you do that, there are only so many words to use that can transition you from one point to the opposite point. You can only use "however" so many times. Given that statement, I would be willing to entertain other words if you're so inclined. Feel free to comment.
