<< Is It Over Yet? The Founders Would Freak >>
The Post That Never Was
Every now and then I write a long philosophical post. When I do that, it takes time, so I do it bit by bit and use the Blogger "Save as Draft" in between. Sometimes I get half way through and decide to scrap the whole thing - just delete it and forget it ever was.

With the election as close as it is, and with some bloggers loving to try to "break a story"... I wonder how many have written two posts for tonight and have them ready to go? I wonder how many Dewy Beats Truman posts we'll have tonight? And how many people will still share the entry that they would have posted had the other guy won? I think that's almost more interesting than the post that actually talks about the winner.

I'm sort of a history buff (I know, I know... what a geek). One of the more interesting foot notes in history is the speech that Ike had prepared in case the D-Day invasion failed - where he took sole responsibility for it's failure. Some people would have simply burned it when it wasn't needed. But he kept it. It's a view into the kind of man that he was, and the incredible responsibility that he shouldered.

So if you're a Bush supporter - what will you say if Kerry wins? And if you're a Kerry supporter - what will you say if Bush wins? What we do if we're disappointed says more about us I think, than what we choose to do if we get everything we want. No matter who wins - that will be our President... Unless you decide to move to Canada.

Update: Instapundit shares some thoughts along the same subject.
