<< Happy Halloween The Post That Never Was >>
Is It Over Yet?
That's it! I'm officially sick and tired of the whole thing! I want the election over with now! For the past 3 or 4 days every other commercial is either a Bush, Kerry, RNC, DNC or 527 ad. I'm sick of them all. 2 out of every 3 phone calls I received this weekend were campaign calls. 75% of them were automated. Do you realize that those types of calls actually make we want to vote for your guy less? If you can't spend the time to put a real person on the line, then I don't want to talk to your automated shit. Do you really think an automated recording makes your guy sound personable and caring? Does an automated recording make it seem like he cares for you? Folks - time for a reality check on campaigning.

Sunday was supposed to be nice. I was going to listen to the Chiefs game on the internet (because it wasn't on TV damnit), and watch the Packers/Redskins game on TV. I live in Wisconsin after all. You'd think that during football I could get some peace. But no. The announcers kept bringing up the statistic that the winner of the Redskins game would determine the outcome of the election (I hope not). Talking about it once was interesting in a "Wow what a conincidence" sort of way. Repeating it over and over again was annoying. As if that wasn't bad enough, Chris Berman during the NFL Prime Time wrap up kept referring to the Redskins as the Republicans and the Packers as the Democrats (even though Kerry doesn't even know the name of the Packer Stadium). TJ... buddy... why couldn't you shut him up? At least Tom Jackson handled the Chiefs game perfectly during Prime Time. He has to be my favorite football commentator... no question.

Now this morning both Bush and Kerry are in Milwaukee. I suppose that just shows how important Wisconsin is to the election... but God... they've practically shut down downtown (where I happen work). Bush is having a rally at the Midwest Airlines Center, and Kerry is holding an outdoor rally (in the rain) outside of City Hall. That puts them about 3 or 4 blocks away from each other. So basically the heart of downtown, and half the streets in and out are shut down all day. Brilliant!

Wednesday can't come soon enough. I just hope that the election is actually decided by then. I can't take another protracted court battle.
