<< So What's More Important Here? Minor Pet Peeve >>
Three Isn't Enough Any More
I've been mulling over this one for a little while. I'm still thinking about these terrorist dry runs that are sort of being reported. Some people think this is a hoax. One of the commonly sited reasons that I have seen is the fact that 14 people seem to be way too many for this sort of attack. After all, the 9/11 attacks were committed with just 3 or 4 terrorist per plane. Not only that, but one of them backed out. So if that's true, wouldn't increasing the size of a particular team not only draw extra attention, but increase the likelihood that someone would back out spoiling the attack?

Absolutely. But here is the catch. What choice do they have? I think that the terrorists are increasing the size of their teams, and doing it for a good reason. They paid attention to what happened over Pennsylvania with the 4th 9/11 plane. They saw that once people on the plane knew what was going to happen, they immediately tried to over power the terrorists. They know that if they were to try anything like this again, that a team of 3 or 4 would immediately be attacked, and that they'd fail. Is 14 over kill for this purpose? I don't know. I'm not a terrorist. But if I wanted to take over a plane now, knowing what we all know, I would certainly go in with more then a handful of people.
