Not In My Backyard
New home for Morford proposed:

Elected officials expressed outrage Friday that state officials hope to house convicted child molester Billy Lee Morford in a home about a quarter mile from two churches that have youth-oriented activities.
...
For about the past year, the state Department of Health and Family Services has been looking to move Morford from a rented northwest Milwaukee house in the 6500 block of N. 51st St., after neighbors objected that site was too close to many children, a park, a school, and a shelter for sexually abused children. Morford was granted supervised community release from civil commitment under Wisconsin's Chapter 980, the so-called sexual predator law.

So basically about a year ago, some sexual predator was released after some whacked out law was passed... and now they're trying to find somewhere to house this guy where there are no children. I've been listening to these communities cry out every time they try to place this guy... I don't blame them. My question is to the brilliant legislators who came up with this law. What on Earth were you thinking? Did you honestly think that people wouldn't be upset when these convicted sexual preditors were released early? Next question... where could you possibly place this guy where there aren't children near by? No school, no day care center, no church with children's groups, no playgrounds, no parents with young children. Either you place this guy in a retirement community in the middle of Florida (and don't think they won't complain)... or maybe on a deserted island. Otherwise toss the guy back in the slammer... or maybe start thinking castration, because you aren't going to find any place where people won't complain.
